"Water-Doomed Arlington to Provide 'Last Look'

     The city of Arlington, which expects to disappear in 1961 under the waters backed up by the John Day Dam on the Columbia River, is going to give Centenial visitors a 'last look.'

     Marks on all the buildings, showing how high the water will bury the town are being painted for the Centennial."  Published in Oregonian
